It's our tradition to annually put aside all negative thoughts and pay tribute to the artists who somehow keep the world of local theater going. It isn't easy for them. Many work long hours -- in addition to "real" jobs -- for long stretches of time and frequently for no money, to create outstanding products that few appreciate.

Downtown entertainment is forgotten but not gone, something you also could say about the "Bottom's Up" revue resurfacing at Fitzgeralds.

The sixth annual John Bailey Memorial Golf Tournament took place Aug. 9-12 in Las Vegas, with proceeds benefiting the Federal Bureau of Investigation Agents Association College Education Fund.
