Soulful and exuberant music combined with Christmas trees, poinsettias and lots of glitter and tinsel Sunday for the Las Vegas Philharmonic's annual "Holiday Celebration."
Music Director Harold Weller, in his last holiday concert before he retires, conducted with confidence and spirit.

And adding to the sparkle were more than 80 members of the Las Vegas Masters Singers, under the direction of Jocelyn Jensen, and 100 young voices from the University Children's Chorale, under the direction of Jeff Kriske.
The festive mood began with "Angels We Have Heard on High," conducted by Weller, which led into a lively Christmas light display.
The orchestra then expressed the magic of the holiday season with "O Come All Ye Faithful," "Carol of the Bells," "Christmas Triptych" and "A Nutcracker Triptych."
Jensen conducted "Angel's Carol," giving her singers the chance to display depth and professionalism.
"Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" closed the first part of the program as the instruments and voices melded into a triumphant sound that was the high point of the concert.
Master of ceremonies Kurt Mische opened the second part of the program with "A Legal Night Before Christmas," a delightful parody of a Christmas tale told in legal parlance.
"Sleigh Ride" and "White Christmas" added warmth and charm to the holiday cheer.
"O Come, O Come Emmanuel," arranged by associate conductor Richard McGee, added a fresh perspective to the traditional favorite.
The University Children's Chorale sang beloved children's Christmas songs with clarity and precision.
And the program came to an ovation-earning conclusion with the plaintive sounds of "Somewhere in My Memory," "A Christmas Festival" and "Let There Be Peace on Earth."
