Rees was stripped of the title on Thursday for racy photos taken five years ago, the Miss Universe Organization announced.
Runner-up Helen Salas will replace Rees at the 2007 Miss USA Pageant on March 23 in Los Angeles.
A year ago, Nevada's Miss America candidate, Crystal Wosik, ignited a controversy with her pro-Yucca Mountain comments during the interview process at the Aladdin/Planet Hollywood.
Wosik told the judges the planned nuclear waste repository "has to go someplace, and that was the best-built facility in the country."
When asked what if people died from a nuclear accident, she replied, "We just have to take one for the team."

Wynn Las Vegas on Thursday confirmed that Cy Waits, a managing partner in Steve Wynn's two Tryst nightclubs, was involved in a recent altercation at Tryst Macau, but dismissed as incredulous wild versions circulating that included arrests, jail and Chinese gangsters. No one was arrested, no one was put in jail, and no gangsters were involved, said a Wynn rep who spoke on the condition of anonymity. Waits is in good standing with Wynn and will be working at the Wynn Tryst this weekend. Tryst Macau opened last weekend. ... Pure Management Group is spinning off a sister club at the newly renovated Fontainebleau in Miami Beach in 2008. A re-creation of Pure at Caesars Palace will be showcased Feb. 23 at Wine Spectator's Best of the Best at Miami's American Airlines Arena. ...

It's the first time Stallone has brought "Rocky" to Las Vegas.

"Ocean's Thirteen" star George Clooney, back in Las Vegas on Thursday, reshooting a scene with producer Jerry Weintraub at Mix Lounge at Mandalay Bay. After wrapping the three-hour shoot at 4 p.m. with director Steven Soderbergh, they flew out on a private jet. There are reports that the movie will open June 8. No word yet on where. Weintraub told me in August that he was considering holding the premiere at Bellagio, where much of "Ocean's Eleven" and "Thirteen" were filmed. ... Dennis Rodman, shopping for eyeliner Wednesday in the cosmetics section at Walgreens, Tropicana and Decatur. Later, he was in the Seamless strip club, spreading joy in the form of the $100 bills he tossed in the air for the dancers. Rodman was in town to announce that he will be a member of his Bad Boy All-Star team, which will face the Harlem Globetrotters on Feb. 17 at the Orleans Arena on NBA All-Star weekend. ... Siegfried & Roy, joining a group of 80, mostly friends and employees, at a Christmas party at the Hofbrauhaus on Wednesday night. Siegfried led the entire main room in singing "Silent Night" at the end of the party. There was even a Klaus in the haus -- that's Klaus Gastager, one of the co-owners. ... Matthew Lillard of "Scooby-Doo" and "Scream," at Blank Space, the modern design furniture store at Mandalay Place.
