A 12-year-old boy shot earlier this month in West Las Vegas died from his injuries Wednesday, Las Vegas police said.
Gregory Adams was shot in the head and hip during the gunfire Jan. 15 on Gold Avenue, near J Street and Owens Avenue. He was among a crowd of between 50 and 75 people in the street when the gunfire erupted about 12:15 a.m., police said.

He died at University Medical Center, where he had been since the shooting.
Gregory lived in Las Vegas and had been visiting relatives when he was shot, police said.
Police said the shooting appeared to be gang-related. Detectives had not determined whether Gregory was the target of the gunfire or an innocent bystander, homicide Lt. Lew Roberts said.
Mike Monroe, who was hosting a party at his house on Gold Avenue where the shooting occurred, said a fight between two girls on the street seemed to spark the incident. His son, 21-year-old Demario Monroe, was shot in the knee when he ran outside to break up the fight, Mike Monroe said.
He said there were no gangs or guns in his house and any trouble was confined to the street.
Anyone with information about the shooting can call homicide detectives at 229-3521 or leave anonymous tips with Crime Stoppers at 385-5555. A reward of up to $2,000 is available.
