WASHINGTON -- Nevada Secretary of State Dean Heller has an indirect link to the Hollywood film industry, based on a financial report filed with Congress.

Heller's wife, Lynne, is part owner of a Los Angeles office building and warehouse rented to a film equipment company that has worked the sets of movies such as "Spiderman," "Men in Black" and "Charlie's Angels."

That detail and others of Heller's personal finances were gleaned from a disclosure form he submitted to Congress as a requirement of his candidacy for the House seat being vacated by Rep. Jim Gibbons, R-Nev.

Financial reports of other Nevada candidates and members of Congress were disclosed in June. Heller's form was not available at that time.

All lawmakers and candidates must file the annual reports, which show most of their financial assets and investments, gifts they received, and travel paid by private interests. Exact figures cannot be determined because the information is allowed to be reported in wide dollar ranges.

The Hellers listed assets of at least $1.68 million and at most $6.44 million. Included in those amounts are four interest-generating bank accounts for their children, with a total value of between $116,000 and $265,000.

The bulk of the Hellers' assets are two family limited partnerships in Lynne Heller's name, the report shows. One of the partnerships lists investments in what appear to be municipal and school bonds from California communities.

Heller, who is from Carson City, was in rural Nevada this week and could not be reached for comment on the report, his political consultant Mike Slanker said.

Lynne Heller's other family partnership produced $38,000 in 2005 rental income from the office building and warehouse in west Los Angeles, near Marina Del Rey. Heller's wife, a Southern California native, owns 6.9 percent of the property, according to a report Heller filed with Congress in July 2005.

The building is rented to Westside Production Services, a lighting and production equipment company for the film industry. On its Web site, Westside said it has worked on a long list of movies, TV shows and commercials.

Heller reported earning $78,265 in 2005 from his position as secretary of state. He also listed his state retirement account, valued between $50,000 and $100,000.

Heller was first elected secretary of state in 1994 and has served three terms. He is also director of the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada.

Lynne Heller was listed as working for the Carson City School District in 2005 and 2006.

For liabilities, Heller disclosed a joint Visa account with $10,000 to $15,000 in revolving credit card debt.
