Law enforcement summit set

REVIEW-JOURNAL

Clark County Sheriff Bill Young and the other leaders of various law enforcement agencies in Southern Nevada will meet on Tuesday to discuss new hires under the More Cops Initiative and crime trends in the valley, among other topics.

Young is hosting the summit, which will bring together police chiefs from Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, Mesquite and officials from the local FBI office to discuss law enforcement issues from traffic concerns to plans on cracking down on crime, said Carla Alston, director of the Metropolitan Police Department's public information office.

"By bringing together the heads of these law enforcement agencies in the community, we hope to work collaboratively to solve the crime problems plaguing the valley," she said.
