Two Las Vegas residents died Sunday morning after the car they were riding in plowed through a light pole, a building sign and a tree before hitting a building.
Las Vegas police said that about 6:20 a.m., the 29-year-old driver of the 1999 Pontiac Grand Am, whose name and gender were withheld by police, was westbound in the left lane of Desert Inn Road east of Eastern Avenue when the person lost control of the vehicle.

The Grand Am crossed the other two westbound lanes, jumped the curb and hit a light pole. The car continued into a small sign and a tree before hitting the side of the First United Mortgage, at 1700 E. Desert Inn Road, and ending up on its roof.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 34-year-old passenger, whose name was withheld by police, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he died shortly after arrival.
Police said they thought speed was a factor in the crash.
The crash raised this year's number of traffic deaths to 76 in Las Vegas and unincorporated Clark County.
More than seven hours after the accident, green spray paint marked by police detailed the path of destruction, and yellow police tape surrounded the accident scene.
After being slowed by the light pole, sign and tree, the Grand Am caused minimal damage to the building, said Florencio De La Rosa, director of facilities for Optima Asset Management Services, which manages the building.
"We're just going to let insurance handle it," he said with a shrug.
