PLAYER'S EDGE: El Cortez gives away wallets containing play vouchers

What's better than a free wallet? How about a free wallet containing a voucher good for up to $1,000 in free play? Every day in March the El Cortez is giving away just that to all Jackie Club members hitting a $200 jackpot on slots or a $300 jackpot on video poker. There is no limit to the number of wallets you can win. Jackpot winners can also choose (in lieu of the wallet) a $10 gift card to use at Smith's, Sears, ARCO, Mobil/Exxon, Shell, or Walgreens. All jackpot winners also receive an entry into the following Saturday night's drawing for a 52-inch HDTV and four $500 cash prizes. Winners must be present.

All Prime Rewards points earned from March 1-26 at either Eldorado or Jokers Wild can be redeemed for cash from March 27-30 at a rate of 1,250 points ($1,250 coin-in) equals $1 or .08 percent. There is a minimum redemption requirement of 6,250 points. Normally these two casinos do not reward cashback.

At 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. every Wednesday in March, the South Coast will draw 10 names to spin the "March Madness Cashwheel" and win up to $20,000. Players can earn tickets at slots, bingo, poker and in the race and sports book.

The Imperial Palace is running a wind machine promotion through April 30. Every day at 3 p.m. seven names will be drawn, and each contestant will have 45 seconds in the wind machine to collect as many $1-$100 bills as he can. Imperial Player members receive one entry for every 100 points ($1,000 coin-in) earned on their card, and no point redemption is required.

Binion's will be giving away $1,000 to 10 winners every Saturday night in March. On March 31, the casino will draw six additional tickets to participate in a "Let's Make a Deal" contest to win $5,000 or $10,000 in cash, a trip to Hawaii, a plasma TV as well as a fine selection of booby prizes. All members get one free ticket each day by presenting their cards at the Club Binion's booth and can earn additional tickets playing slots and table games.
