Police break up students' party; 10 arrested

REVIEW-JOURNAL

About 100 students from Basic High School skipped class Tuesday morning to party at a nearby home.

After Henderson police crashed the party, four minors were arrested for resisting arrest, one was arrested for battery on a police officer, and five adults were arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, said Henderson police spokesman Todd Rasmussen.

Rasmussen said that Clark County School District truancy officials notified Henderson police of the party on 713 Center St. When police broke up the party at about 9:30 a.m., about 40 students fled the scene. Another 70 to 80 students did not flee.

Some of those students were sick from drinking and sent to their homes, and Rasmussen said the rest were bused to Basic, near Lake Mead Parkway and Boulder Highway.

Rasmussen said his department is looking into whether middle school students were at the party.

The adults who were charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor are Jose Plascencia, 18; Rudy Paramo-Fuentes, 18; Omar Garcia, 18; Hector Goycochea, 20; and Juan Saenz, 19.
