Michael's Restaurant, a fine dining magnet at the Barbary Coast since 1981, is moving to the south end of the Strip.
Michael Gaughan, who today assumes ownership of the South Coast from Boyd Gaming and renamed it South Point, said Tuesday he envisions the move taking place by April or May.

The new Michael's will be almost a carbon copy of the current eatery, which is known for it's celebrity clientele and top-end menu prices.
"We'll still have 12 booths, four tables in the middle of the room and a party room in the back," he said, adding that the building plans will go to the county for approval next week.
Gaughan said he insisted on keeping the toney restaurant as part of his sale of the Barbary Coast to Harrah's.
He's taking the restaurant staff with him.
"Everybody goes, even the busboys,'' he said.
Michael's will remain open until the move, he said.
FLOWERS JABS GREEN DAY
Killers frontman Brandon Flowers is stirring the pot again. In an interview for The Word magazine, Flowers reportedly took a swipe at the group Green Day. "You have Green Day and American Idiot. Where do they film their DVD? In England. A bunch of kids screaming 'I don't wanna be an American Idiot.' I saw it as a very negative thing towards Americans."
Flowers told the magazine that he deliberately sang in an American accent on the new Killers CD, "Sam's Town," after being criticized for an English-sounding accent on "Hot Fuss," their first album.
He added, "Americans are getting a bad rap right now. ... It's because of the war and everything that's going on. It's understandable, but to an extent it's not fair because we're just people who were born here."

"Bareback," the Greg Thompson Productions revue that closed Sunday, has been playing at Harrah's, not the Sahara, as misstated here in Tuesday's column.
