A man was killed Saturday night outside a Nevada State Bank branch on Warm Springs Road near Paradise Road, Las Vegas police said.
Police said the man and a co-worker had dropped off their employer's night deposit about 9:40 p.m. when a red Dodge Neon with black rims pulled up behind their silver Ford Mustang behind the bank, at 750 E. Warm Springs.

A passenger carrying a rifle got out of the Dodge, approached the two people in the Mustang and tried to rob them, police said. The suspect then shot the victim several times. Police withheld the victim's name, age and hometown Sunday.
The suspects did not get away with any money, police said.
Las Vegas police Sgt. Russell Shoemaker said the suspects might have been waiting for the two workers. He added that the suspect who shot the victim "wasn't interested in the witness," but Shoemaker did not draw any conclusions as to why.
The driver of the Neon is described as a black man who was wearing a bandana over the lower half of his face. The victim was shot by a white man, also wearing a bandana, who appeared to be 25 to 28 years old, about 6 feet tall and about 180 pounds. He was dressed in a faded red shirt, blue jeans and boots.
Anyone with information about the shooting can call police at 229-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
