The Monday wreck happened about 7:50 a.m. when the 1990 BMW that Hernandez was driving ran a red light northbound on Lindell and was struck on the driver's side by a 2004 Dodge pickup, heading east on Desert Inn, driven by Paul Wortham, 44, of Las Vegas, police said.

Lazaro Nunez, 52, of Salt Lake City and a 17-year-old Las Vegan were also in the BMW, and they suffered minor injuries. They were treated at UMC and released.

Wortham was uninjured.
