It's easy to whip up some beignets
Even though Commander's Palace has closed its Las Vegas location (hopefully temporarily) Donna Meers won't have to forgo fresh beignets, readers say.
"She can find beignet mix at Villege Meat & Wines, 5025 S. Eastern Ave.," wrote Ethel Dubuc. "Just bought some last week -- made them, ate them and thought I was back in New Orleans for a moment. Well, not exactly."

Becky Wright and Pam Tette said the mix is available at Cost Plus World Market, which has three locations in the valley. Wright added that Cost Plus also carries Louisiana chicory coffee.
