The Marine Corps League is collecting donated items to put in care packages for a local unit of Marine Forces Reserves who deployed to Iraq this week.

Organizer Cheryl Gardner said the items needed include socks, foot powder, beef jerky, lip balm, powdered drink mixes, eye wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, baby wipes, cotton boxer shorts, gum, hard candy, mixed nuts and playing cards.

The items can be dropped off at the Leatherneck Club, 4360 Spring Mountain Road, Las Vegas.
