"As many as 500 people may wish to participate in the hearing," stated a news release issued by the hearings' office.
The office has established a detailed schedule dictating deadlines for interested parties to file briefs in the matter.
Wind River Resources, L.L.C. made application in March, 2005 to transfer water from the Beaver Dam Wash to Mesquite to be distributed by the Virgin Valley Water District.
The water district serves a 312-square-mile area in southern Clark County and the community of Scenic in Arizona.
Wind River proposes to construct three wells to initially pump about 800 acre-feet of water to the water district. Transfer volume would increase each year topping out at 14,000 acre feet of water per year.
The public hearings are scheduled March 2, 3 and 4 at Beaver Dam High School, 3470 East Rio Virgin Road, in Beaver Dam, Ariz.
