TOASTMASTERS

The Valley Voices & Vices Toastmasters club meets at 7:30 a.m. Fridays at Nevada Federal Credit Union, 2645 S. Mojave Road, Suite C (454-8266).

The High Noon Lectern Toastmasters club meets at noon Fridays at Denny's, 3081 S. Maryland Parkway (798-3700).

The New Life Trail Blazers Toastmasters club meets at 5 p.m. the first and second Sunday of each month at New Life Christian Center, 1229 E. Carson Ave. (340-0375).

EMBLEM CLUB

The Las Vegas Emblem Club No. 114 will have its 50th annual Paisano Dinner at 6 p.m. Friday at the Las Vegas Elks Lodge 1468, 4100 W. Charleston Blvd. Tickets to the pasta dinner are $15 for adults and $8 for children younger than 8. Proceeds benefit local charities (642-3150).

AARP MEETING

AARP, Chapter 1189, will meet at 11 a.m. Friday in the clubhouse at Royal Oaks Mobile Home Park, 5300 E. Desert Inn Road. Lunch will follow (451-7043).

LECTURE

"Are All Values Relative? Seeking Common Ethical Ground in a Pluralist World of Conflicting Values" will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Barrick Museum auditorium at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. The program is sponsored by the UNLV College of Liberal Arts. Admission is free (895-3401).

STAMP CLUB

The Southern Nevada Stamp Club meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Friday of each month at Sutton Terrace, 3185 E. Flamingo Road (839-1694).

SUIT DRIVE

Shade Tree shelter, 1 W. Owens Ave., is in need of new or gently used suits to benefit women in need of proper job-interview attire. Suits may be dropped off at Shade Tree Friday through March 9 (385-0072).

KIDS TO KIDS

Spread the Word Nevada Kids to Kids will celebrate six years of giving books to valley children and promoting literacy causes with a children's literacy festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Providence Master Planned Community, 7051 N. Hualapai Way (429-5344).

HISTORICAL GROUPS

The Signers Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will have a breakfast meeting at 8 a.m. Saturday at Denny's, 3081 S. Maryland Parkway (798-1856).

The Nevada Women's History Project will have a luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Marie Callender's, 4800 S. Eastern Ave. The topic will be "Liberated Nevada Women: The 13 Women who Owned Cars in 1913." Reservations are required (648-9415).

FAMILY ACTIVITIES

The city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services will sponsor a family game night from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Johnson Community School, 340 Villa Monterey Drive. The event will feature a variety of board games for all ages (229-6175). The department will host a Dr. Seuss Birthday Breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday at Cimarron Rose Community Center, 5591 N. Cimarron Road. Green eggs and ham, stories and crafts will be included (229-1607).
