RICHARD ENG: Multiple stakes races on same card is genius The creative idea of having multiple major stakes races on the same card is a good one. Santa Anita marketing director Allen Gutterman may have conceived the concept more than two decades ago. Gutterman bundled many 2-year-old harness stakes on the same night while at the Meadowlands, which was promoted as "Million Dollar Babies."
Utah State upends No. 10 UNR
LOGAN, Utah -- Chaz Spicer made two free throws with 3.8 seconds left in overtime to give Utah State a 79-77 upset victory over No. 10 UNR on Thursday night, ending the Wolf Pack's nine-game winning streak.
