Jamie McGuire is looking for soda bread, and we've got a place where it can be found -- at least on Saturday.

For Gene Landis, who is looking for Italian water ices and Chicago-style roast beef sandwiches on fresh rolls, readers have a number of suggestions.

"I recently discovered Windy City Pizza & Subs at ... 2521 S. Fort Apache Road," e-mailed Dawn Macke. "They've got great Italian beef sandwiches ... and I hear they make their own beef and broth for them."

Ari Sobel e-mailed that Giovanni's Pizza at 7380 S. Eastern Ave. "has great Italian ices," and Bono's at 310 E. Warm Springs Road has Italian beef sandwiches.

"You can also get the best direct, through www.viennabeef.com," he added.

Jeff Petrick suggested Amore's Pizza at 3945 S. Durango Drive.

"They also just introduced a breaded steak sandwich," Petrick added. "Not as good as Ricobenes in Chicago, but it satisfies. Their pizza is also the best I've found out here."

Petrick also suggested the Chicago Cactus Club, 4061 N. Rancho Drive, for Italian beef. ...
