Mendelssohn's 'Hymn' part of arts group concert

The Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society will perform Felix Mendelssohn's symphony-cantata, "Hymn of Praise" (Lobgesang) at 3 p.m. April 1 in the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Artemus Ham Hall, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.

Tickets are $12 general admission and $10 for seniors, disabled and military. Tickets are available by calling 895-2787.

The concert will feature the 65-voice Musical Arts Chorus, 38-piece Musical Arts Orchestra, and guest soloists Jennifer Kittinger Loss, soprano; Juline Barol-Gilmore, mezzo soprano; and Gerald Grahame, tenor.

On the same program, Randy Pagel will direct the 120 Las Vegas Youth Choristers in W.A. Mozart's "Te Deum" and the "Magnifact" by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi. The Choristers group is made up of students from Cannon Middle School and Leavitt Middle School.
