NORM: Bouncer to leave hospital today

Boxer Laila Ali must tackle new footwork to compete on the TV show "Dancing With the Stars."

Tom Urbanski, the bouncer who was paralyzed during the triple shooting at Minxx strip club, is checking out of the hospital today.

Urbanski remains paralyzed from the waist down, but he has been coherent for a week, and "he's going to make it," his wife, Kathy, said Tuesday.

Urbanski, another bouncer and a woman were shot during an early morning melee on Feb. 19 when a gathering including NFL player Adam "Pacman" Jones at Minxx turned violent.

The shooting remains under investigation. No arrests have been made.

Meanwhile, Las Vegas police are investigating another incident involving a high-profile NFL player.

Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Levi Jones pressed misdemeanor charges against Miami Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter. Jones alleges he was beaten by Porter at a blackjack table about 7 p.m. Sunday at the Palms.

Police spokesman Martin Wright confirmed Tuesday that Jones alleged that several of his gold chains were stolen during the altercation.

KRUGER PURSUED

UNLV basketball coach Lon Kruger already has turned down a big-school offer, said Dave Cokin, who made the comment Tuesday on KBAD-AM, 920 (ESPN), during his sports-talk show with John Hanson.

Cokin said he could not identify the school because Kruger swore him to secrecy. The school has not yet announced that it is letting its coach go, Cokin said. Kruger has two years remaining on his UNLV deal.

ALI'S DAUGHTER FAVORED

Boxer Laila Ali is a narrow favorite over former 'N Sync member Joey Fatone on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars IV." Ali is listed at 4-1 and Fatone at 5-1 at the Wynn Las Vegas race and sports book.

Johnny Avello, director of the race and sports operations, posts the odds for entertainment purposes only.

The rest of the odds are as follows: TV personality Leeza Gibbons, 7-1; country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, 8-1; Miss USA 2003 Shandi Finnessey, 10-1; NBA great Clyde Drexler, 12-1; actor Ian Ziering, 14-1; skater Apolo Anton Ohno, 15-1; Paul McCartney's estranged wife, Heather Mills, 18-1; supermodel Paulina Porizkova and "Cheers" mailman John Ratzenberger, 25-1.
