Post Time 1 p.m.
Race 1 - 2 furlongs, Purse $36,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, 2-year-olds
Nevada Worrier - Who knows how many works, or races, this colt had in Idaho before coming down here; Chipman is among the best in baby races.
Young Joe - Another baby drag racing expert is Ward, who won the first 2-YO offering yesterday; is hooking up again with main man Pedroza.
Long Shot - Doublesweetact
Race 2 - 6 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Claiming $10,000, Fillies, 4-year-olds
Virginia City - Speedball may bust in front and never look back today; the key will be if she can avoid another suicidal speed duel.
I'maladytak - Dead late closer could be the beneficiary of an incendiary pace; has the right jock who will sit and wait for the trip.
Long Shot - Sheztoohot
Race 3 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $48,000, Maiden special weights, 4-year-olds and up
Kailee Rush - Disappointed last time in a spot where it looked like he would dominate; don't expect the two Baffert colts to duel early.
King Palm - Where else do you think I would pick this locally owned horse, in second place, of course; not many MSW have won over $100k.
Long Shot - Phil the Usher
Race 4 - 1 1/8th miles (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $55,000, Allowance, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Del Mar Ticket - Tepid chalk in a pretty wide open turf route; will save ground under Nakatani and try her best late, not a gimmee.
Usk Poppy - Speedball tactics could be used as she is stretching out from the hillside to a 2-turn route; Baze loves to send going long.
Long Shot - Sharplaw Autumn
Race 5 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $17,000, Claiming $12,500, 4-year-olds and up
Hello Fame - Sure to be overlooked despite winning his last start; he has enough back class to repeat, if not improve, upon his last win.
Slide Home - No one is more dangerous than Mullins off the claim; he spots this 5-YO perfectly to cash in immediately, stalker role.
Long Shot - Lite Man
Race 6 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $48,000, Maiden special weights, 3-year-olds
Solicitous - Showed turf ability in his grassy debut two back; Baffert than ran him back on dirt and he was humiliated and distanced.
Miller's Turbo - Speedball can be a dangerous foe again on the front end; O'Neill taking the blinkers off, Chavez is a helping hand.
Long Shot - Yankee Bay
Race 7 - 7 furlongs, Purse $63,000, Allowance, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Freakin Streakin - Hate the rail post going 7-furlongs, but love that she is turning back in distance; Gomez can sit a trip and explode late.
Getback Time - Speedby tactics can be effective if allowed to stroll along early; she was dead game last time fighting off stretch threats.
Long Shot - Nossa Cancao
Race 8 - 6 furlongs, Purse $17,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 4-year-olds and up
Brite Shadow - Taking a huge move from post 12 to post 1, which has to help him somewhat; Jones is dropping him in class which helps too.
Rapid Silver - Has been threatening to break down the door, now switching to Agapito; that should help his price, will be overlaid.
Long Shot - Lost in Lexington
Best Bet - Kailee Rush (race 3)
Santa Anita Wednesday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 16/6/$37.40; Long Shots, 7/1/$8.40; Best Bet, 1/0/$0
Santa Anita Totals - 1,013/265/$1,805.40; Long Shots, 509/63/$842.40; Best Bets, 58/23/$99.40
