Allegiant Air, a Las Vegas-based discount carrier, said it will start nonstop jet service from Gulfport, Miss., to Las Vegas and Orlando, Fla. starting June 1.

The Las Vegas service will operate Mondays and Fridays, with flights departing Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport. The Orlando service will operate Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The carrier will use 150-seat, MD-80 series jet aircraft on the routes.
Allegiant Air is operated by publicly traded Allegiant Travel Co.
