Three youths from Southern Nevada had winning entries in Coldwell Banker's "My Home: The American Dream" contest.
Raven Asay, a seventh-grader at Leavitt Middle School, was named a grand-prize winner, and fifth-graders Greta Chiocchetti of Walker Elementary School, and William Culbreth, a home-schooled pupil, were named finalists.

For the contest, youths in grades kindergarten through eighth had to explain what makes their houses homes and submit their entries in the form of a short film on DVD or VHS; a storyboard, comic book or series of photographs with text; or an essay accompanied by illustrations. The entries were judged on creativity, originality and overall quality and effort.
For her winning entry, Raven submitted a booklet in the shape of a house. In "Finding My Way Home," Raven described her life growing up in foster homes.
Out of 2,200 entries, three grand prize winners were selected. The winners will receive $2,000, and the 50 finalists will be awarded $100. In addition, teachers of the grand prize-winning students will receive a digital video camera for their classroom.
