The historic downtown post office and courthouse appears shrink-wrapped Monday on its way to being restored and turned into a museum. The plastic cover preserves the building while exterior paint and windows are brought back to their original state, according to Las Vegas officials. It also keeps materials such as lead-based paint away from the public. This stage of the project is expected to take 90 to 120 days. No date has been announced for the opening of the museum, which Mayor Oscar Goodman describes as a "Mob Museum." The city still needs money to complete the project.
