Combined one-hitter by Gonzalez, Lucero fuels Las Vegas win

Jordan Gonzalez and Victor Lucero combined to pitch a one-hitter, leading Las Vegas to a 6-1 road victory over Eldorado in the Northeast Division opener for both teams Tuesday.

Blayne Grondel went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and Christian Lucero added two RBIs for the Wildcats.

Bishop Gorman 11, Palmdale (Calif.) 10 -- At Scottsdale, Ariz., Neil Lawhorn was 2-for-2 with five RBIs as the Gaels edged Palmdale in the Cleats National Invitational.

Gorman's Scott Dysinger was 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI and Taylor Cole homered and had three RBIs.

Sierra Vista 14, Durango 4 -- At Durango, Nick Caparelli went 3-for-3 with an RBI to help the Lions to a five-inning victory.

Lance Ray added three hits, two runs and two RBIs for Sierra Vista.

Green Valley 7, Foothill 4 -- At Green Valley, Kyle Konicek and Marshall Kennebrew each went 2-for-2 with a double to lead the Gators over the Falcons.

Konicek drove in two runs and Kennebrew one.

Mark Johnson gained the win, allowing two earned runs in six innings with six strikeouts.

Canyon Springs 17, Desert Pines 7 -- At Canyon Springs, the Pioneers scored 12 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to come from behind.

Tyler Smith was 4-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and a stolen base for Canyon Springs. Fermin Cardenas added two doubles, and Josh Dahilig had two hits.

Rancho 10, Valley 1 -- At Valley, James Crockett pitched a complete game and was 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Rams.

Crockett allowed four hits and struck out 10. Paul Deaver was 2-for-2 with four RBIs.

Chaparral 13, Clark 3 -- At Chaparral, Chris Butler went 3-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs as the Cowboys defeated the Chargers in five innings.

Chris Juneman supplied a home run for Chaparral. Manny Estrada homered for Clark.

Spring Valley 10, Bonanza 5 -- At Bonanza, Cody Collins went 4-for-5, including a three-run homer in the second inning, as the Grizzlies beat the Bengals.

Cameron Brooks was 2-for-3 and Connor McKenna and Enzo Bello each went 2-for-5 for the Grizzlies.

Tyler Anderson went the distance to gain the victory, allowing one earned run on seven hits with seven strikeouts.

Centennial 13, Cheyenne 3 -- At Centennial, the Bulldogs scored eight runs in the first inning and coasted past the Bulldogs.

Troy Hunter struck out five and allowed four hits over five innings to get the win, and Matt Holley went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored for Centennial.

Del Sol 20, Vo-Tech 2 -- At Vo-Tech, Matt Burge went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored and also got the pitching win to lead the Dragons over the Roadrunners in five innings.

Ryan Klorman went 3-for-3 with four RBIs for Del Sol.

Silverado 5, Basic 1 -- At Silverado, Adam Koglin went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Chase Bradford pitched a five-hitter as the Skyhawks beat the Wolves.

Brett Wellman went 2-for-3 for Basic.

Cimarron-Memorial 6, Palo Verde 2 -- At Palo Verde, Travis Feiner's two-run triple in the seventh put the Spartans ahead for good.

Feiner's hit highlighted a six-run inning for Cimarron.

Coronado 18, Liberty 2 -- At Liberty, Jake Wagner went 4-for-4 with four runs and four RBIs as the Cougars defeated the Patriots.

Wagner smacked a two-run homer in the fourth inning and also had two doubles. Jordan Blanchard went 2-for-2 with five RBIs.

Boulder City 7, Pine View (Utah) 5 -- At Boulder City, River Frantz doubled and homered and his brother Dylan went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs to pace the Eagles.

Faith Lutheran 13-4, Virgin Valley 1-1 -- At Virgin Valley, Dylan Young was 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs in the first game and pitched a five-hitter with eight strikeouts in the second game.

Adam Jones had two RBI doubles and scored twice, and Dave Anderson homered in the opener.

Calvary Chapel 7, Falcon (Colo.) 5 -- At Calvary Chapel, Cameron Harper had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs as the Lions defeated Falcons.
