City plans family festival at local park

The city of Las Vegas' Performing Arts Division will present its annual Family Festival at Sunny Springs Park from noon to 3 p.m. April 7

Picnics are allowed, and there will be hot dogs, chips and soda while supplies last. Admission is free. Call 229-1087 for details.

The park, at Buffalo Drive and Golden Talon Avenue, will be filled with live entertainment and demonstrations, games and other activities for people of all ages.

Performers include JACL Kaminari Taiko Drummers, Keiki O Mokiao Polynesian dancers, IDEA Dance Studio, Lohan School of Shaolin (Chinese lion dance), Xyachimal Folkloric Ballet (traditional Mexican dances), and Gibson Community School's hip-hop dancers, Critical Kondition.

There also will be information about the recreational and cultural programs, classes, special events and sports leagues available throughout the city.
