HEAD OF THE CLASS

ARBOR VIEW -- Boys track athlete Dominique Williams set school records in the high jump, triple jump and long jump. Girls track athlete Sade Johnson was second in the 100-meter dash, third in the 200, ran on the winning 800 relay team and the second-place 400 relay team at the Pahrump Valley Invitational.

BASIC -- Softball player Erika Stratton went 6-for-8 in two victories. Baseball player Brett Wellman went 8-for-16 and pitched a two-hit shutout.

BONANZA -- Girls track sprinter Tammy Harris placed first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, was second in the 400 and fourth in the high jump in a meet with Cimarron-Memorial, Cheyenne, Clark and Indian Springs. Boys track athlete Jacob Thornell won the 1,600 and 3,200 against Cimarron, Cheyenne, Clark and Indian Springs.

CENTENNIAL -- Baseball outfielder Josh Barrone was 10-for-17 with two doubles, two triples and six RBIs in three games, including the game-winning RBI against Silverado. Softball pitcher Lauren Lynds had two complete games, including a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts against Durango.

CIMARRON-MEMORIAL -- Boys track athlete Neil Spencer had a throw of 156 feet in the discus and 50 feet, 8 inches in the shot put in a meet with Las Vegas, Indian Springs and Mojave. Girls swimmer April Whitley set school records in the 200-yard individual medley and 100 breaststroke against Vo-Tech.

CLARK -- Boys golfer Jacob Harmon shot par 72 to place first at a Southwest Division Match at Las Vegas Golf Club.

CORONADO -- Boys volleyball player Jake Koelliker had 86 assists and 14 kills to help the Cougars to a 2-1 record in the Southeast Division. Girls track athlete Haley Bice placed second in the 100-meter dash and ran the anchor leg of the winning 400 relay team at the Surf City Invitational.

FOOTHILL -- Boys swimmer Zachary Stone set the school record in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5 minutes, 28.81 seconds. Girls swimmer Victoria Senn set a school record in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:45.25.

GREEN VALLEY -- Girls softball catcher Lindsey Headley was 4-for-5 in an 8-7 victory over Durango. Baseball player Kyle Konicek went 10-for-15 with three doubles, a triple and six RBIs in five games.

LIBERTY -- Boys track athlete Jason Kennedy won the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 3 inches at the Pahrump Valley Invitational.

MOUNTAIN VIEW -- Girls softball player Kaitlin Glover batted .687 with seven RBIs and nine stolen bases in four games. Boys golfer Brandon Ward shot 76 in the second league match.

PALO VERDE -- Girls softball player Lauren Stover was 3-for-6 with three RBIs against Spring Valley. Baseball player Jake Capurro drove in seven runs for the week and hit a game-winning grand slam against Spring Valley.

RANCHO -- Girls track athlete Aisha Momodu placed first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and ran on the winning 400 and 1,600 relay teams against Desert Pines and Moapa Valley.

SIERRA VISTA -- Softball player Kelsey McCoy batted .538 with three runs and three RBIs in four games.

SPRING VALLEY -- Baseball player Connor McKenna went 9-for-16 with 15 runs in six games.

The sophomore pitcher struck out the first 10 batters he faced and finished with 18 strikeouts in a 7-2 win over Liberty.

FEMALE

The freshman softball pitcher was 9-for-15 with three home runs, a triple and 10 runs to help the Patriots to a second-place finish at the Kingman (Ariz.) Invitational. English struck out 42 in five games.
