Centennial's Lucas wins 3-point title at All-American Game

It's been quite a week for Centennial girls basketball standout Italee Lucas.

She was named the Gatorade Nevada Player of the Year, then won the 3-point contest at the Powerade Jam Fest on Monday night in Louisville, Ky., as part of the McDonald's All-American Game festivities.

On Wednesday, Lucas became the first Nevada girl to play in the McDonald's game. Her West squad fell behind 20-2 and lost, 105-76.

Duke signee Jasmine Thomas had 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists to lead the East. Thomas was named the game's Most Valuable Player.

Lucas, a 5-foot-8-inch senior, has signed with North Carolina. She averaged 24.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 3.0 steals in leading the Bulldogs to a second-place finish at state.

SIGNING -- Centennial girls golf standout Morgan Kerber signed to play at Southern Utah.

Kerber was a four-year state qualifier for the Bulldogs. She shot a 36-hole total of 11-over-par 155 to place sixth at state last fall.
