Cancer patients shocked when free makeovers take unexpected turn
A group of cancer patients didn’t realize what they were in for recently when they were invited to receive makeovers for free.
The group of 20 were chosen to participate in a “unique makeover experience” that was completely free, but with a caveat: The invitees had to promise to keep their eyes closed the preparation.
The makeovers were done by a group of professional hair and makeup artists and funded by the Mimi Foundation, a group with a mission to “contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of people affected by cancer.”
The foundation posted the project video, titled “If only for a second,” on YouTube.
According to the video, when the makeovers were complete the participants faced a one-way mirror. On the other side was a photographer who “then immortalized the moment they opened their eyes.”
Many of the participants’ jaws dropped in surprise at their reflection. After processing their new look, they burst into laughter.
“This discovery allowed them to forget their illness, if only for a second,” the video’s description says.
