In case you missed it: Biker vs. bear
August 23, 2013 - 1:18 pm
This week”;s public service announcement is brought to you by bears.
One bear, actually, and he”;d like to tell you that your bike is no match for his brute strength, thank you very much.
The young black bear was traveling through British Columbia recently — probably meeting up with some friends for an end-of-summer hurrah — when he was startled by a passing train.
He darted across the highway just in time to give a speeding motorcyclist quite the scare.
The motorcyclist, intent on proving to the world his ability to accelerate, was too busy pointing his helmet cam at his speedometer to notice he was about to slam into the side of a wild animal.
The helmet cam footage shows the biker accelerating from 0 to 85 mph before quickly being brought back down to zero by the scampering creature.
The bear left uninjured and with a cool story to tell his friends.
The biker had to be treated for injuries, and now has to face the video evidence he provided police of his traffic habits.
Lesson learned: Don”;t speed if you can”;t bear the consequences.
