5 inexpensive music shows coming up in Las Vegas

FOO’S GOLD

The Foo Fighters and Nirvana. That’s a double bill that you’ll never see, for obvious reasons. That said, file this one under: Next Best Thing? Friday, the Fooz Fighters and Smells Like Nirvana are set to share the stage at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. Tickets are $15 and the show starts at 7 p.m.

FAST AND FURIOUS

Faster Pussycat, Los Angeles hair metal mavens whose moniker comes from a Russ Meyer movie, are returning to Las Vegas on Saturday for a show at Count’s Vamp’d. Tickets are $10 (and include a free drink), and the show’s at 9:30 p.m.

DIOMG

If you’re fond of Dio, the dearly departed metal god who first brandished the horns, then this show will be of great interest. Featuring former members of his band, Vivian Campbell and Vinny Appice, Last in Line is due at Count’s Vamp’d on Thursday. Tickets are $15. The show’s at 11 p.m.

GASS UP

Kyle Gass, one half of the titanic talent known as Tenacious D, is set to play Backstage Bar & Billiards on Friday with his group, the cleverly named Kyle Gass Band, with help from Strange Mistress and Irie. Tickets are $11 to $15; doors are at 8 p.m.

LAW AND ORDER

If you came of age in the ’90s and have a soft spot for Clinton-era pop punk, have we got the show for you! Unwritten Law and Fenix TX are at Backstage Bar & Billiards on Wednesday with Guilty by Association, Rayner and Leatherbound Crooks. Tickets are $13 to $16; the show’s at 8 p.m.
