The Soul Rebels

You can’t swing a dead cat in New Orleans without thwacking a member of this brass band or that dead in the kisser. But how many of those groups have jammed with Metallica and Green Day, Marilyn Manson and Slick Rick? Only one: The Soul Rebels. On their latest tour, they’re adding another big name to that impressive list of collaborators: hip-hop great Talib Kweli, who joins the eight-piece ensemble at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brooklyn Bowl at The Linq. Disturbed

Everybody, all together now, “Ohh-whah-ah-ah-ah.” Yes, those inimitable vocal contortions, which sound kind of like a Saint Bernard attempting to ralph up a hambone lodged in its throat, could only belong to one David Draiman, frontman for Chicago metallers Disturbed. Draiman popularized said bark on the band’s breakout 2000 single “Down With the Sickness.” Disturbed’s latest big hit is a cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Sound of Silence,” a song that you can finally mosh to after all these years. Phantogram

Over a murky hip-hop beat and gospel-style vocal incantations, Phantogram frontwoman Sarah Barthel bids adieu to her good side on “Cruel World,” a song from the New York trip-hop duo’s forthcoming new album, “Three,” due in October. “I’m sorry, my friend, this is the end,” she sings, vowing to put you out of your misery at 8 p.m. Thursday at Brooklyn Bowl at The Linq. Kitty in a Casket

Because if you don’t have time for a horror-lovin’ female-fronted Austrian punkabilly troupe who come hard with songs like “Kreepsville 666” and “Midnight Thrill-Ride,” really, why bother even leaving the house?
