This week’s 5 best bets for music in Las Vegas

Widespread Panic

Las Vegas fans’ love for Widespread Panic goes back to the early ’90s, when the band first played the Shark Club and the Huntridge Theater. Starting Friday, Panic treats those fans to three nights of tunes at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel. Tickets are $55 to $175; the shows start at 8 p.m.

Rick Springfield

Rick Springfield could easily coast on the success he enjoyed in the ’80s. But there’s no need for such nostalgia, as his new material is just as striking. Catch Springfield on Saturday at Mandalay Bay Beach with the Romantics and see how strong his songwriting is these days. Tickets are $36.24; the show’s at 9 p.m.

Toad the Wet Sprocket

Toad the Wet Sprocket’s on a tour marking the 25th anniversary of “Fear,” its third album, which produced big hits like “All I Want” and “Walk On the Ocean.” The band brings the celebration to the Brooklyn Bowl on Monday with Rusted Root. Tickets are $35 to $50; the show’s at 7 p.m.

Chicago

When Chicago played here last summer with Earth Wind & Fire, only one of those bands had been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Fast forward about 12 months and now both have. Commemorate the iconic act’s induction at The Pearl at the Palms on Saturday. Tickets are $68.81 to $188.08; the show’s at 8 p.m.

Screeching Weasel

Ben Weasel has been making punk rock as Screeching Weasel for three decades with the help of a lengthy procession of bandmates. The influential Weasel shares a bill July 14 at Beauty Bar with fellow punk legends The Dickies and The Queers. Tickets are $22; the show’s at 8 p.m.
