2 adults suffer smoke inhalation in Las Vegas fire

Two people were transported to the hospital after a house fire near Vegas and Rancho drives Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to a house in the 4400 block of Parkchester Drive about 4 p.m. and saw heavy flames and smoke coming from a bedroom window.

The blaze was extinguished in about 20 minutes, according to Tim Szymanski of the Las Vegas Fire Department.

The fire was contained to the bedroom, and damage was estimated at $75,000.

All four adults occupants were able to escape, but two people suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to the hospital, Szymanski said.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.
