Coroner identifies kidnapping suspect who shot himself in Pahrump hotel

The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the kidnapping suspect who shot himself in the head during a confrontation with Nye County’s SWAT team Sunday morning.

Ferdinand Lariosa, 29, forced an unidentified female into her vehicle Saturday night in Las Vegas, brandishing a .40-caliber pistol and firing into the air to threaten the distraught woman, according to the Nye County Sheriff’s office.

Authorities tracked them to a Best Western hotel in Pahrump Sunday morning. Hostage negotiations were attempted, but the suspect was not cooperative.

As the SWAT team entered the hotel room, they heard Lariosa shoot himself in the head. The victim was found unharmed.
