Boy, 3, dies after hit by vehicle in Pahrump driveway

PAHRUMP - A 3-year-old boy died Wednesday after he and a man were struck by a moving vehicle in the driveway of a home, authorities said.

Pahrump Valley firefighters and Nye County Sheriff’s deputies were called about 12:20 p.m. to the 2700 block of West Blosser Ranch Road, near Barney Street, and found the boy unresponsive.

The child was air-lifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, but succumbed to his wounds. The boy’s name was not immediately released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

The man suffered injuries to his leg and back. He was treated at Desert View Hospital.

Investigators said, the 3-year-old was left alone in a running vehicle when it began to move.

The man was injured while trying to stop it. The boy was hit when he tried to get out of the vehicle, authorities said.

The incident remained under investigation.
