Good Samaritan robbed by man posing as victim

SPARKS — Police say a Sparks resident who was trying to be a Good Samaritan ended up the victim of an armed robbery.

Police say the man was riding his motorcycle near the Truckee River about 10:15 p.m. Saturday when he spotted someone who appeared to need help along the road near Fisherman’s Park on Galletti Way.

When he stopped to assist, he says the suspect pulled out a gun and robbed him.

Police say a second man appeared to be an accomplice in the scam.
