Las Vegas police officer arrested on fraud charges


A Las Vegas police officer was arrested Monday and placed on administrative leave on insurance fraud and other felony charges, officials said Friday.

John A. Wilson has been working as a Las Vegas police officer since August 1996.

He is 46 years old.

He surrendered at the Clark County Detention Center, where he was charged with theft, attempted theft and insurance fraud, police said.

Police declined further comment.

The case is now pending with the Nevada attorney general's office.
