Mother, son slain in Henderson

A 40-year-old mother and her 10-year-old son were found slain in a Henderson apartment on Friday, and police are searching for the mother’s 16-year-old son, who was still missing late Friday.

Autopsies will be conducted by the Clark County coroner’s office, said Keith Paul, spokesman for the Henderson Police Department. The names of the victims were not released and Paul declined to say how they died.

“It’s still under investigation,” Paul said.

Police discovered the bodies at noon after local schools in Henderson reported both boys as missing since Wednesday. Employees at the mother’s workplace were worried after she did not show up for her job, Paul said.

The apartment is located on the west side of Henderson in the 11000 block of South Eastern Avenue near Sunridge Heights Parkway.

Paul said those with knowledge of the whereabouts of 16-year-old Adrian Navaro, who is not considered a suspect, should immediately call 911.
