One dead in shooting near Tropicana

A man was killed after a shooting near Tropicana Avenue and Valley View Boulevard late Tuesday night, Las Vegas police said.

Police responded to the Rebel gas station at 3785 W. Tropicana Ave. just before 11 p.m. to calls about a man being shot, police said.

Officers found the man lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to University Medical Center where he died shortly after, police said.

After investigating, police believe the man had parked at the gas pumps and stayed sitting in his car for about 30 minutes. When he finally got out of the car, he was shot. Two people got into a tan sedan and fled the scene, police said.

The suspects had not been identified as of 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The man’s name and cause of death will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
