Police: Man assaults woman walking child to bus stop

Las Vegas police believe additional women may be victims of sexual assaults committed by a 19-year-old in late August.

Lajuan Cole was booked into Clark County Detention Center earlier this week and faces charges of robbery and five counts of open and gross lewdness after an Aug. 30 incident during which he approached a woman walking her child to the bus stop in the 8800 block of Spencer Street, grabbed her breasts, then pressed his body up against hers, according to police.

Both the woman and the suspect, believed to be Cole, fell to the ground as she fought against his advances and was able to escape.

Detectives believe there are other women who might have experienced similar incidents in the 9700 block of South Eastern Avenue.

Cole has since been released on bail.

Anyone with any information or may have been a victim can contact the the Sexual Assault Section at 828-3421 or Crime Stoppers by phone or at 385-5555 or on the internet at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
