Police raid East Las Vegas location believed to be illegal brothel

Las Vegas police raided what they believe to be an illegal brothel in an east Las Vegas neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

“I thought it was like a drug bust or something,” said neighbor Joshua Hernandez. Shortly before the raid happened, Hernandez saw numerous civilian-type cars occupied by cops in heavy protective gear just feet from his house.

Other neighbors said the house in the 2400 block of Kirk Avenue, near Eastern and Washington avenues, has always attracted heavy traffic, mostly men.

The police investigation is ongoing. At least one person is in custody and being investigated for pandering, police said. Three females at the house also may be the victims of human trafficking.

Numerous busts have been made at the house in the past, one neighbor said.
