Suspect wanted in California slaying arrested in Las Vegas

A 19-year-old man wanted in a California slaying was arrested Thursday night by a task force in the northwest valley, Las Vegas police said Friday.

Police said Victor Rodgers was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and is being held pending extradition to Sacramento. He is suspected of fatally shooting a man, police said.

Rogers was arrested by the Criminal Apprehension Team, or CAT, about 9:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of North Decatur Boulevard, near Smoke Ranch Road.

CAT is composed of officers with Las Vegas and Henderson police, along with FBI agents.
