Vehicle crashes into two houses in North Las Vegas; driver flees on foot

Several people received a rude awakening Friday morning when an SUV slammed into the front of two houses in North Las Vegas.

A Toyota Sequoia hit the homes about 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Lone Mountain Road and North Fifth Street, said North Las Vegas Officer Chrissie Coon. She said the vehicle might be stolen.

The first house that was struck was empty. No injuries were sustained by people in the second house, Coon said.

The driver fled on foot and has not been located.
