Henry Prendes, 37, a Las Vegas officer for 14 years, becomes the first Metropolitan Police Department officer since 1988 killed in the line of duty. Prendes, one of several officers responding to a domestic disturbance call, is ambushed by Amir Rashid Crump, 21, as he approaches Crump’s southwest Las Vegas residence. A standoff follows in which seven officers fire at and kill Crump. Unanimously ruled justifiable. Police were not able to provide a complete report for this incident.
