Two North Las Vegas firefighters hurt in firetruck accident

A firetruck was hit by a sport utility vehicle in northeast Las Vegas early Friday morning.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries and were not hospitalized, according to Las Vegas police.

The crash happened at the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and Sandy Lane.

Engine 51 from the North Las Vegas Fire Department was parked on the eastbound side of Lake Mead when the SUV driver failed to slow down and slammed into the back of the firetruck, according to a police spokesman.
