West valley house fire injures one person

A fire caused $150,000 worth of damage to a west valley home Thursday afternoon, the Las Vegas Fire Department said.

Department spokesman Tim Szymanski said firefighters were alerted to the blaze at the two-story home about 5:42 p.m. at 3120 Ocean Port Drive, near Mariner Cove Drive and Fort Apache Road.

The fire began on a couch in the family room.

A male teenager jumped from a window during the fire and sustained non-life threatening injuries, Szymanksi said. He was treated at University Medical Center.
