Las Vegas City Manager Doug Selby resigns

Doug Selby is stepping down from his position as Las Vegas' city manager.

He made the announcement this afternoon, "citing a desire to pursue other options," according to a written statement.

He has no immediate plans to take another job, according to the statement.

“I have been city manager for more than six years, which is a very long time for a position like this,” Selby said. “It has been an honor to serve the city and I am very proud of our many accomplishments, but feel the need to do other work at this stage of my life.”
