A 44-year-old Las Vegas man was arrested Wednesday after he is alleged to have impersonated a police officer and demanded sexual favors from a massage parlor worker on Sunset Road in Henderson.
Lawrence DiVetro was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on charges of impersonating an officer, burglary and kidnapping, Henderson police said Friday. He was released on a $21,000 bail on Thursday.
He’s accused of entering the Sunset Spa about noon on Jan. 23, where, while getting a massage, he started to demand sexual favors from the workers there, according to police. When she refused him, police said he falsely identified himself as a Henderson police officer and tried to arrest the woman.
DiVetro kept telling her that she was under arrest and walked out the door after he told her was going to check with her supervisor.
When detectives later caught up with DiVetro in his car, they said he displayed a gold badge and had handcuffs on the seat of his car. DiVetro initially denied patronizing the massage parlor, but then said he did show the worker a badge, saying he did so to prevent a crime after she offered him sexual favors, police said.
