Las Vegas police seek suspect in Friday stabbing death

Las Vegas police said they are seeking a new suspect in connection with a homicide Friday in the 4400 block of Jimmy Durante Boulevard.

Police had been looking for a suspect named “DJ” for the killing and a related carjacking Saturday morning. Police said Sunday they had located “DJ” and he has been ruled out as a suspect.

Police believe the suspect they want has replaced the Nevada license plates of the vehicle from the carjacking, possibly with California ones. The car is a silver 2005 Toyota Scion four-door hatchback.

Police found Christopher Matley of Las Vegas dead Friday in an apartment from multiple stab wounds. The 33-year-old’s body was discovered about 1 p.m.

Anyone who has information about the suspect or either crime should call homicide detectives at 702-828-3521 or contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 and www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
